Pursuant to the proposals in our Institute’s Educational Project - PEI in Spanish, research is conducted at the UNAB, attaching importance to critical, applied and innovative thinking in the academic community, represented in professors and students, acknowledging the fact that research is the way to come up with solutions for problem situations that arise in the local and regional contexts.
Research at the UNAB brings together: university activities, teaching and outreach, in line with the principles and values established by the institutional mission.
Functional Structure
The image illustrates the functional structure of research at the UNAB. Professors distribute their time between teaching and research, and Research Groups are multidisciplinary, as they are made up of professors who research different disciplines.
By executing research projects and plans, we manage the construction, preservation, dissemination and transfer of knowledge in favor of social and institutional development, thus creating a favorable atmosphere for research through:
Teamwork
Researcher training and recognition
Interdisciplinarity
Interaction with the national and international scientific community
Social and productive sectors
The protection and rational use of natural resources that play a role in local, regional and national development.
