The undeniable importance of languages in the globalized world is a valuable argument that justifies the existence and operation of university Language Institutes. This is why the UNAB has created this office as a cross-cutting academic foundation for all its undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Language Institute offers courses in: English, French, Italian, Portuguese and German for the entire UNAB community. As the universal language, English is in highest demand. In addition, the Colombian "Bilingualism" program promoted by the Colombian Department of Education has established learning English as a graduation requirement for different levels of education. In the specific case of Higher Education, undergraduate students are expected to reach Level B-2 as per the Common European Framework of Reference. These regulations have made it necessary to put together and offer English courses in the descriptors for each level and verify the results with standard international exams.
